I just returned from a powerful mission trip to Jacmel, Haiti which is located in the south east of Haiti. Jacmel was one of the cities damaged by the earthquake in 2010. Jacmel faces many challenges: education, healthcare, housing, a need for evangelism, an absence of positive role models and opportunities to develop talent.
Our team from Legacy Community Church spent ten days doing outreach, vacation bible school, serving at a Bible Conference, developing teens for leadership, and conducting English proficiency classes. I taught a 15 hour workshop called, Mastering the Basics of Entrepreneurship.
Despite the challenges and what we consider discomforts, it was a powerful time of seed sowing! Being in Haiti for 10 days was an eye opener. It confirmed for me that I have absolutely NOTHING to complain about and everything to be grateful for.
The people of Jacmel, Haiti were hungry! I don’t mean hungry for food but hungry for the spiritual word, the business word, and any word that would provide an opportunity to grow. What looked like hopelessness to me looked like hope and opportunity to them.
In the USA, the land of plenty, where our worse day of lack doesn’t compare to the extreme poverty in Jacmel, Haiti. So my question to you is, are you hungry enough to turn your dream into reality for your business, your career, your life, and your legacy?
Answer these 6 questions to determine where you are and what you need to do to get hungry!
What habits do I need to develop and what habits do I need to destroy to reach my destiny? There are many things we need to start doing but there are a lot of things we need to stop doing too! It’s only those things that we do with consistency that lead to success! Where are you spending and wasting your time?
Do I understand my purpose, my talent, my strengths and my calling and am I using them in the best way? Many of us are so busy trying to be copycats instead of exploring and developing our own uniqueness. Seek to understand your best unique self.
Am I engaged enough? Engaged with the right people, information, groups, books, conferences, networks? No one does anything great alone. Network, get a coach or a consultant like myself, give of your time and talent, it will come back to you. Make the investment to get engaged! Many people fail because they surround themselves with the wrong people.
Do I give up, give out, give in to soon when it gets difficult or requires more of me than “I feel like” giving? If I did things based on how I felt I’d never leave my bedroom. Develop a mindset of “quitting is not an option regardless of how I feel”.
What results have I gotten? Evaluate your results to date. Your desire must match your effort. When your effort matches your desire you’ll begin to see a shift. You CAN have faith and do the work at the same time. Maximum effort will produce maximum results!
I would love to help you discover your hunger for moving to the next level and use the resources you already have. Visit our website and schedule a consultation soon!
